Long Weekend

Happy Tuesday!

We had a long holiday weekend here in Ireland and the weather was perfect! It was sunny and warm and beautiful.

The dear husband recently ordered a ton of seeds and bulbs and other equipment, but when we got our order we were missing a few things so we had to go out and pick those up and then, of course, we came home with more than we needed.

We barbecued on Friday and Saturday night, ate outside, enjoyed the neighbours being gone all weekend! It was wonderful.

Mr. balanced painted the shed and together we planted lots of things.

( It seems that Ginger has been nibbling on that spider plant while on the windowsill, so we’ve put it outside in the nursery. She can’t be trusted with anything.)

Today, of course, the rain returned. But, I’m happy to see it. It’s washed away all the dirt from our adventures outside and made everything feel fresh and clean.

It was a wonderful weekend, indeed. I hope yours was too. :)

Wanting: Patchwork Footstool

This weekend Poppytalk posted about some cute patchwork footstools that were featured in Canadian House and Home magazine. I, too, hearted them right away and immediately began trying to figure out where to get them.

I sadly still can’t find anywhere to buy them, but I did find a few beautiful alternatives.

I’m dying.

No, not really dying.  I am ecstatic!

First, a little background information.

I came up with these Lattice Ribbon Bracelets a while ago. I adored them, still do, but I was very unsure of how they would be received by people. You see, these bracelets do not have clasps. What? Yes. You simply tie the ends of the ribbons together.

Now, bracelets in general I think require some assistance to put on and take off. Yes I know of “bracelet buddies” and other little contraptions that are supposed to help, but it’s likely you will have to ask someone to assist you.  Even with toggle clasps, the easiest of clasps to maneuvre, in my opinion.  SO, I just wasn’t sure if people would take to the whole tying thing.

Am I rambling?

Ok.

So, I recently sold one of these Lattice Ribbon Bracelets to a lovely gal by the name of Amy, who informed me that she would be wearing it on the day of her wedding as an accent in her favourite colour. Love it!

I was thrilled to hear that. I mean I think all jewelry designers love to be a part of peoples weddings. It’s a very special thing. But, I was also thrilled to know that people were not put off by “no clasp bracelets”.

So I sent it off to Amy, wished her well and thanked her very much.

Then today… she sent me this.

Is Amy not the most beautiful bride ever?

She completely made my day with this. I am so thrilled to have been able to be a part of her special day.

AND I am so happy to know that she was pleased with her purchase from me. Thank you very, very much Amy!

Congratulations to you and your new hubby!

Happy Paddy’s Day and a sale!

The sun has come out for St. Patrick’s Day! We’re just watching the parade on the tele. We’ll be staying close to home and celebrating safely.

For us,  my husband and I, today simply means not having to go to work or walk down to the p.o. It’s a national holiday after all.

I am having a sale in my shop today to help celebrate though! I’m offering Free Worldwide Shipping on all purchases.

Why not snag yourself your own wee shamrocks!
