Now, I am all about sales and promoting sales. BUT, I don’t know how shophandmade can make the claim that they are the first ever handmade site to offer a sale. Dawanda has sales often, in fact, they are having one right now! Which I just posted about , um, yesterday. Am I being fussy?

Of course, I’m not trying to deter anyone from partaking in this sale. Please, go shop! I just thought it should be pointed out. Share the love.

Spoonflower Update – New Design Options

o0o0o! I am LOVING the new design options on offer over at Spoonflower. They’ve recently introduced a half-step and a half-brick option and they are both fabulous!

I’ve had some images that just didn’t look quite right with the previous options, but with these, well, I’m in love.

Here’s one of mine with the half-brick in 2 yards.

Shophandmade.com

Oi. Another handmade selling site. I might be a little late to this party, but anyway, I’ve only got I think, 3? listings up there right now. I’m considering just posting supplies there and keeping everything else on Dawanda as I am liking their reSupplies section. Haven’t decided yet.

This is how they got me.

Shop Handmade – Rewarding Creativity. A brand new venue for selling hand-made items, plus every time an item is sold they will fund the protection of 25 square feet of rainforest. This means that everything purchased on ShopHandmade has had the carbon impact mitigated. Selling on ShopHandmade.com protects endangered rain forests and reduces global warming.”

I’m a sucker for the Earth.

Oh and it’s fee free! Sort of.

Beading For The Cure

I heard about this via bead-space.com. I think we can all agree that it’s a great cause and I am all over it! I happen to have some assorted pink lampwork beads hanging around that I just didn’t know what to do with. I do now! (pink is not a prerequisite by the way, just thought it was fitting.)

The rules are simple, but you can read more about the guidelines here (pdf).

If you wish to participate, and I hope you do, simply download the participation form (pdf) and send in your donation. The deadline is November 23, 2008.

Interview at 1stAngel

Recently, the good folks over at Imagekind started up a new community forum and so far it has been very beneficial. I’ve met some wonderful artists  and received some lovely feedback. The best of which was an invitation to be interviewed by Beth Edwards for a segment called “Interview with the Artists” on her website 1stAngel. I was so honoured and it felt SO nice. :)

You can read my interview here.

I think it’s a great service 1stAngel is providing. Bringing together artists of all kinds and I wish her the best of luck with it. I sincerely thank her for this opportunity. Thank you Beth. :)
