I’ve mentioned before how I like jewellery you can play with. Well, these are very playful. They spin! I’ve been playing with mine all day, I should probably take it off and get some work done.

I’m thinking of doing a small, short video showing them in action, too. Think that might be helpful.

Look what we did. From a seed! a seed!!

this was our sunflower yesterday, reaching for the sun, but the sun was nowhere to be found.

and this is it today.

I’m so proud of us. My mom would be, too.

And it’s massive. The biggest thing we’ve ever grown. It’s at least a foot higher than our fence and the fence is about 6 feet.

I’m sure some people will read this and think, “wow, you grew a flower”. Well, yes, yes we did. A giant, healthy sunflower.

I can’t stop looking at it through the window. There’s about 4 others on there, too, waiting to bloom.

Now I can check that off my “things to do before you’re 30 31″ list.

oh! we’re also growing something mysterious out of our door mat. 0.o What the heck is that?!

seriously, what is it? I guess that happens when you have a lot of rain? I’ve never seen such a thing.

So, we took the train to Greystones. Got off and headed down to the beach.

We walked up and down the beach for about a mile looking for sea glass and shells.

Then we headed back into the town of Greystones for some coffee. We stopped at this cute little cafe, situated at the entrance of the cliffwalk, and had a big ol’ cappuccino and some apple pie. Was just the thing to re-energize us for the walk! Couple of health nuts, we are.

Then, off we were!

The cliffwalk itself is 8km. And it is a truly beautiful walk!

Once we got to Bray we stopped at this picnic bench to eat our sammiches and rest a minute.

The Bray promenade is just the cutest thing. I love all those brightly coloured buildings.

It was cooling down quite a bit by now, but we strolled along the beach again looking for more sea glass. I found all sorts of treasures, but I’m saving those for another post.

We were knackered by the time we got home, but it was a beautiful trip!

We had a long holiday weekend here in Ireland and the weather was perfect! It was sunny and warm and beautiful.

The dear husband recently ordered a ton of seeds and bulbs and other equipment, but when we got our order we were missing a few things so we had to go out and pick those up and then, of course, we came home with more than we needed.

We barbecued on Friday and Saturday night, ate outside, enjoyed the neighbours being gone all weekend! It was wonderful.

Mr. balanced painted the shed and together we planted lots of things.

( It seems that Ginger has been nibbling on that spider plant while on the windowsill, so we’ve put it outside in the nursery. She can’t be trusted with anything.)

Today, of course, the rain returned. But, I’m happy to see it. It’s washed away all the dirt from our adventures outside and made everything feel fresh and clean.

It was a wonderful weekend, indeed. I hope yours was too.

The sun has come out for St. Patrick’s Day! We’re just watching the parade on the tele. We’ll be staying close to home and celebrating safely.

For us,  my husband and I, today simply means not having to go to work or walk down to the p.o. It’s a national holiday after all.

I can’t believe how quickly 2009 has gone by. So many things have happened this year, not all of them good, not all of them bad. It was a good year.

I am thankful for many things at this moment and I am hopeful that 2010 will be better.

I want to thank all of you who have supported me and my endeavours and wish you all the very best in the new year.
